| Treat yourself to an
unforgettable retreat with certified Anusara Yoga teacher, Amy Ippoliti,
and renowned Tabla player, Ty Burhoe. This will be our sixth trip back
to Locanda del Gallo, a 12th Century restored stone home, tucked into
the magnificent hills in the peace and quiet of Umbria's unspoiled
Italian countryside. A stunning veranda wraps itself around the house
and a spiritual calm emanates the home and grounds, making this the
ideal place to retreat, get inspired and revitalize your spirit. Bask in
the spectacular sunsets of the Tiberina Valley and enjoy delicious
healthy organic food, an intriguing mix of Sri Lankan and Italian
cuisine, rich in genuine flavors: cold-pressed olive oil, aromatic herbs
and vegetables straight from the gardens. Each day includes a dynamic yoga class with Amy, deepening
your understanding of Anusara Yoga and philosophy. Afternoons will
feature drumming and rhythm class with Ty. We will learn to speak the
rhythms of the Tabla as well as learn to play the frame drum as an
ensemble. Through the practices of Anusara Yoga and the Art of Rhythm,
we will delve into the ideas of Nada Brahma (sound & rhythm being an
access to the Divine) and deepen our understanding of how we can more
fully come into rhythm with our selves, each other, and our environment.
Just soaking up the postcard-perfect views of the Tiberina
Valley is guaranteed to stir the soul. Give yourself the gift of this
magnificent retreat. You will cherish the memories for a lifetime!

Travel to Umbria

Our retreat begins September 29th with dinner and ends on October 6th after
breakfast. Check out time is at noon. If you are coming from the States, purchase International tickets to
either Rome or Perugia (via Milan or London). Perugia is the closest airport to Locanda. We recommend checking both options to see which gets you the best fare.
We advise to use websites such as Kayak to search flights and car rentals. Remember, because of the time difference, you must fly the day before
(September 28th) in order to arrive in Italy by the 29th.
Flight Options:
To Perugia
If you fly to Perugia via Milan or London, it is more direct, and the Perugia airport is only 25 minutes from Locanda Del Gallo. However, the final leg (Milan-Perugia)
can cost more, though not necessarily, so it is best to check. The cost of a cab from the airport is approximately 45 Euros one-way.
To Rome
If you choose to fly to Rome, there are three ways to get to Perugia/Locanda. You can rent a car (or go in on a rental with another retreat participant) and
it is about a 3 hour drive to Locanda. You can also take a bus for about 25 EU (contact us for details). You can also take a train to Perugia. Perugia's main
train station is Stazione Centrale. Check out rail schedules. The Italian State Railway Representative in the USA is 1-800-248-7245.
The cost of a cab from the the bus stop/train station is approximately 45 Euros one-way.
Check out Kayak for your travel planning! We
recommend using Kayak for researching/booking flights and car rentals
for this retreat.
